When George Philip Pelawa was born on 11 February 1912, in Minnesota, United States, his father, Philip Pelawa, was 45 and his mother, Elizabeth Motzko, was 34. He married Birdella Virgie Meyer on 23 January 1970, in Morrison, Minnesota, United States. He lived in Eagle Valley Township, Todd, Minnesota, United States in 1930. He died on 17 April 1983, in Virginia, St. Louis, Minnesota, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Morris, Stevens, Minnesota, United States.

George Dale Pelawa (February 22, 1968 – August 30, 1986) was a high school hockeyright winger from Bemidji, Minnesota. He was named Minnesota Mr. Hockey in 1986 as the top high-school player in the state and was selected in the first round, 16th overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. He died in an automobile accident three months after the draft.
Playing career
[edit]Pelawa was a three-sport star. As a first baseman, he led his school to the Minnesota State Baseball tournament in 1985 and was scouted by the Minnesota Twins. He was also an all-state football linebacker, recruited to play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association by Notre Dame, Penn State and Minnesota.[1]
As a hockey player, Pelawa set new records at Bemidji High for goals and points, leading the school to the state championship tournament in his junior and senior years.[1] He scored 29 g

As some of you may be aware, inom was born and raised in Canada, and still remember most fondly my upbringing and the special memories the sport of hockey created in my life. As a youngster, I played hockey, inom watched hockey, I knew and read lots about hockey, and it continues to occupy a special place in my heart, even though football and basketball are the sports I watch most these days.
