- Bhim Tuladhar and his band The Influence could be said to be the first popular Nepali pop musicians, in the sense that they produced and performed songs in Nepali as early as Much of their early output was Nepali-styled reworkings of familiar Beatles hits. As Bhim described it, the Influence derived its name from the band&#;s embrace of Western pop music in Nepali-language songs (Tuladhar). Bhim&#;s singing style, and the instruments his band used were based on Western pop, but they also tried to integrate a few elements&#;or at least the &#;feeling&#;&#;of Nepali människor and modern melodies into Western-styled melodies based on the Beatles and Pink Floyd. Before them, some Nepali musicians covered Western music in English, but no one played Western-style music in Nepali. "Neelimarani : My Mother, My Hero" is my first book and instead of writing it on me, my struggle and work, I have written it on my mother and how she shaped me into a person that I am today. It is a tribute to my mother and I dedicate the book to all mothers in the world.
I consciously chose the word 'Hero' because she singularly took all pains to bring us up. She was our mother, father, friend, philosopher and guide.
Though my mother was from a village, not formally literate, and a person who had to face struggles like none, she always insisted on developing her village instead of amassing wealth for her or family when opportunities were available. It is a story of an ordinary woman and her extraordinary struggles and vision to give back to the society even if she only got pains living in the society.
Through this book and as her doting son, here I make my mother immortal and keep her alive in all hearts, especially of my readers.
