    Thee Sacred Souls is the debut studio album by San Diego soul trio Thee Sacred Souls, released on August 26, , through Daptone Records.

    Thee Sacred Souls formed in April , composed of bassist Sal Samano, drummer Alex Garcia, and singer Josh Lane.[1][4][5] Garcia and Samano met in San Diego in , forming an instrumental oldies band.[6][7] They met Lane a few months later, and he joined as a vocalist for the group.[6][8] The group was inspired by chicano soul, gospel, doo-wop, and oldies music.[9][10][11][12][13] The group started exclusively as a live band performing at local venues in San Diego at first.[6][14] After their second show, Bosco Mann invited them to record music at Daptone Records' Penrose Studios in Riverside, California.[7]

    Selome Hailu of The Austin Chronicle awarded the film three and a half stars out of five and wrote, "The college archetypes get a bit on-the-nose, and some lingering underwater scenes feel jammed in to match other coming-of-agers. But ultimately, the imperfections just feel cute."[3]

    Tara McNamara of Common Sense Media awarded the film two stars out of five.[4]

    Cat Cardenas of Texas Monthly gave the film a negative review and wrote, "Though the premise of each film is a party, The Get Together fails to deliver on heart."[5]
